Control and Power:
Doors represent barriers that control who can enter or leave a space, symbolizing power and authority. They provide sensory experiences like the feel of a handle or the sound of a creaking hinge.
Stairs guide movement and impose order, reflecting social hierarchies. They shape how people navigate spaces, creating rhythm and transitions. Together, doors and stairs control how we interact with space, both physically and mentally.
In my work, I use optical illusions and vibrant colors to create hidden spaces, symbolizing the invisible systems of control in everyday environments. Blue represents power, subtly shaping our actions and limiting freedom.
The artwork encourages the viewer to question how the spaces we inhabit influence our actions, thoughts, and identity. By combining optical illusions with bold colors, I aim to reveal the unseen dynamics of control in modern life and challenge the way we perceive power. This series invites reflection on how environments unconsciously control us and offers a playful yet thought-provoking way to reclaim autonomy.
